It’s looking less and less likely that this week’s Jets-Bills game will actually be played on Sunday.

With more snow falling on the Buffalo area and a driving ban still in place in Orchard Park, the Bills were unable to practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said playing the game on Sunday seemed “impractical.”

“Everybody would love to see a Bills game go forward,” Cuomo said Thurday in Cheektowaga, N.Y. “But even more, everybody wants to make sure that public safety comes first.”

“At this point in time, doing what we have to do with the driving ban…staying off the roads, would make a Bills game impractical. So, if you ask me today, right now, my two cents would be it is impractical to do the game because it would jeopardize public safety.”

The combination of the snow in Ralph Wilson Stadium and the Bills inability to practice would presumably encourage the league to consider moving the game to Monday or Tuesday. As of yet, no decision though: an NFL spokesman said late Thursday morning that there was no update on the situation and that the league is continuing to work with the Bills and local authorities to determine the status of the stadium.

The Bills, who estimated Wednesday they need to move 220,000 tons of snow, are offering $ 10 per hour and game tickets to those willing to help shovel. With the driving ban still in place, however, it’s hard to imagine many fans are able to make it to the stadium at the moment.
